Description

This course is for people who want to start learning skills for work in the mechanical and engineering industries. It is a good first step if you are new to the sector or looking to gain skills for future training or employment.
You will study two NOCN units:
• Skills for Employability – Learn key skills needed for work, such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
• Skills for Gaining Employment – Learn how to apply for jobs, prepare for interviews, and understand what employers are looking for.
The course is:
• Practical – You will use real examples from mechanical industries.
• Supportive – Tutors will guide you step by step and build your confidence.
• Career-focused – It can lead to further training or work in mechanical and engineering industries.
After the course, you will:
• Understand the skills needed to work in mechanical industries.
• Be more confident applying for jobs and interviews.
• Gain an NOCN Entry Level Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development.
No previous qualifications are needed. This course is suitable for beginners who want to explore a career in mechanical or engineering work.
