Description

This course is for people who want to learn the basics of gardening and develop skills for future work or training. It gives you practical experience and knowledge to help you in everyday life and in starting a career in horticulture.
You will study two NOCN units:
• Skills for Employability – Learn key skills for work, such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
• Garden Horticulture – Learn how to carry out simple gardening tasks, such as planting, caring for plants, and keeping a garden safe and tidy.
The course is:
• Hands-on – Most learning is practical and takes place in the garden.
• Supportive – Tutors will guide you step by step and build your confidence.
• A good start – It can lead to further study, training, or work in horticulture or related areas.
After the course, you will:
• Understand the basics of garden care.
• Gain useful skills for future work and training.
• Achieve an NOCN Entry Level Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development.
No previous experience is needed. This course is suitable for beginners who enjoy working outdoors.
